Emergency Manager 3

Emergency Manager 3 is a month-long, 24/7 immersive experience where participants must navigate numerous challenges that closely resemble real-life, public sector realities. Think of this as a month-long functional exercise. The entire program is conducted virtually with a weekly check-in held where participants will connect using Zoom. Throughout the program, participants will receive various emails, texts, phone calls/voicemails, and see social media posts, news broadcasts, or other injects. You are not expected to drop everything and respond to every inject immediately. As in real life, sometimes you can answer that call and sometimes you cannot — it is all part of the experience.

Participants will be divided into small emergency management teams and assigned a given jurisdiction for which they are responsible. Each team will have multiple assignments throughout the program that must be completed by set deadlines. Without giving away the scenario, participants will demonstrate their competencies in navigating mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery using real-life and simulated materials. Participants will be challenged with responsibilities identical to those in real-life emergency management positions and be expected to protect their assigned communities as before, during, and after a disaster. The first night of the program, particpants will receive in-depth rules and expectations in a “player briefing” format before the experience begins.

This is your opportunity to bring together and apply everything you’ve learned in EM1 and EM2 with the most realistic scenarios and deliverables possible.
